Healthy food should consist of vegetables, nuts, fruit, legumes, etc. Meat sources, if allowed, may be restricted to chicken and fish, especially sardines as they contain DMAE (Dimethylaminoethanol) and Q10.
DMAE is brain food, elevates mood and increases memory and concentration. DMAE is an antioxidant and a precursor to choline. It is involved in the repair of cell membranes and might have life-extending abilities.
Q10 is a coenzyme and also an antioxidant. It increases all brain and body functions, strengthens the immune system and is useful in countering a variety of diseases.
Nuts, with their many amino-acids, and fish are rightly called brain food. But Flax, Quinoa and Bee pollen should also be added to this list because they contain an almost perfect collection of all essential amino-acids. This is food that gives body and mind the nutrition it requires.
For general benefits for the whole system consider: ground Flax seeds (#1 on my list), Fo-Ti, ground Sunflower seeds and Sesame seeds.
Freshly ground flax seeds are very healthy for the whole body and every cell in the body. The ground seeds and the oil release a whole range of beneficial vitamins, minerals, amino-acids and essential fatty acids. Health claims range from lupus to cancer (Dr. Budwig Diet).
Note: Flax seeds should be ground when taking them for their nutritional benefits since the whole Flax seeds work as a laxative.
To add even more fuel to the powers of Concentration, consider herbs*: Gotu Kola, Ginseng, Ginkgo biloba, Calamus, Blessed Thistle, Vinca minor, Rosemary and Sage.
Caution: Avoid using Gotu Kola in case of ulcers since this herb tends to aggrevate ulcers. Do not overuse or overdose on Calamus since this herb has emetic properties and may cause hallucinations.
*When experimenting with any herb or food, always exercise caution as a responsible adult. Any substance, with the exception of pure, clean water, can cause an allergic reaction. Other side-effects are also possible.
