Casa Serenita Bali, Batunya Tabanan is a resort style retreat with a home stay touch. Set in the terraced fields of rice and vegetables in the central mountains of Bali it offers a unique window into life in rural Bali.
With the soft opening it now provides an opportunity for individuals, small groups, adventurers, trekkers, nature lovers, and those simply seeking peace and tranquility in central Bali’s cool scenic mountains. An area of natural beauty offering the traditional rural atmosphere little changed over the years with it’s ancient Pura and traditional religious practices, a resort retreat to visit, stay, and enjoy.
Car /small bus (40 seatmax) parking with toilet facilities for drivers is provided for short visits or long term stays. The retreat is situated approximately 1km east from Baturiti Traditional Market at km 42 on the main Denpasar to Singaraja road south of Bedegul. it’s car park is easily accessible by m/cycle, car, and small buses. Designed as a retreat /resort for the lone traveller, couples, or small groups, seeking to experience the tranquilty, serenity, of the rural atmosphere with culinary flavours provided from local traditional organic agriculture – the crop growing “vegetable basket”, that fuels the island.
At an altitude of 876m in the Volcanic highlands it enjoys a stable temperature from around 170C at night to a high of 270C during the day. The monsoon “rainy” season is from October to April, although the changing climate provides several showers during the dryer period.
Casa Serenita, sited on the southern slopes of the Beratan caldera and lake, is in a beautiful scenic area, offering six mountain peeks, three lakes, waterfalls, a golf course and a botanic garden in its immediate vicinity. Only 20 minutes from the Pura Ulun Danu Beratan, the second most photographed temple in Bali, it offers opportunities for visitors, especially couples and photographers to capture memories of Bali’s iconic Pura, with it’s backdrop lake, and mountains.
Beratan caldera is located in the northwest of central Bali and is an area with seven mountain peaks, Gn Batukru (2276), Gn Sangiyang/Sanghiyang twin peaks (2093 2074) ,Gn Pohen (2063) ,Gn Catur(2023), Gn Adeng (1826), Gn Batur (1717), Gn Leseung (1065), grouped north east (1) and southwest (5), with lakes “Danau” Beratan, Bunyan, and Tamblingan situated in the Bedegul area south west of Gn Catur slopes.
Mt Catur (part of an extinct volcano) offers some of the most striking views of Bali, as well as a famous scenic golf course (Bali Handara) below in part of the original crater. Climbing Gn Catur takes about 3 hours for the moderately fit with some difficult areas caused by landslips. It reward’s the climber with picturesque views of the surrounding mountains, and lake Bratan, with Singaraja to the north. It features Manggu Pura Puncak Temple at the summit.
Gn Batukaru, one of Bali’s holiest mountains after Gn Agung and Bali’s 2nd highest mountain, together with the other peaks, lakes, and botanic garden on the slopes of GN Baratan offer opportunities for trekking in the lush green rainforests of Bali. Gn Agung (3142m) Bali’s most holy mountain, with Gn Batur (1717m), and Gn Abang (2151m) can be seen to the east and offer the chance of stunning sunrise photos. Traveling to the east and west takes you through remote traditional villages and ancient Pura, along with spectacular views of terraced fields rainforests and slopes on route to either Kintamani (east) and Pupuan (west).
Casa Serenita will provide a unique experience of more traditional Bali, the agricultural rice and vegetable growing heart of the island, it gives decerning traveller seeking to experience tranquility in open surroundings a chance to enjoy the farm atmosphere surrounded by small terraced fields in comfort, while viewing Bali’s impressive mountains and southern vistas without surrounding walls. Facilities for Weddings, Yoga, meditation, and rejuvenation, CSB offers a spiritual experience accompanied with farm fresh food, meat, fruit, and vegetables are all from the nearby fields and nearby traditional markets.
Developed with a minimum impact on the local environment, solar power is used to pump water from mountain springs below to provide hot and cold showers and filtered drinking water. This lets our staff prepare healthy simple and enjoyably authentic local cuisine or our special menues with a touch of the “west” for guests seeking to expand their gastronomic experience.
